I’ve always been a fan of Sherlock Holmes, so when Dan and I were given the opportunity of doing something in the canon, we jumped at the chance of redesigning, rebooting and revitalising his youthful deputies, the Baker Street Irregulars.

Sherlock Holmes: The Baker Street Irregulars were a series of books in 2011 that found the Irregulars, led by Wiggins (the only one ever named in one of Conan Doyle’s novels) at a loss. Sherlock Holmes was believed dead, and while the world mourned, the Irregulars took up residence at 221b Baker Street and solved crimes while waiting for Holmes to return. Assisted by Watson, Mycroft Holmes, Irene Adler and Inspector Lestrade, they found themselves on the roof of trains, in underground railways and even on the run for their life.

Who said being a street urchin was dull…
